I give English lessons for children who need extra support in English mastery. I was the training manager for Eye Level English (a multinational for the field of education) in Indonesia. There I learned different learning materials and learning approach for children. I will help your child / children with their own 'eye level'.

Hi, My name is Cathrine. I have completed my IB diploma at Birkerød Gymnasium. I am currently pursuing my degree in Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. I am originally from Malaysia but I have been living in Denmark for the past 5 years. However, English is my first language. I am fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the language. Therefore, during the lesson, I will incorporate tasks and activities involving these 3 aspects. We will also go through basic grammar rules that will be useful for both writing and daily conversations. I will provide printed worksheets and assignments (included in the fees of the lesson) to be done during the lesson and also as homework. Workbooks may be provided at an additional cost which you can work with on your own at home after the lesson. This is of course highly recommended for your own benefit as practice makes perfect. In the first meeting, we will discuss further on the preference of workload and what you would like to learn. I'm available for hourly sessions where we can practice increasing the fluency, comprehension, speaking, or writing level you're at with the English language. English is falsely presented as an easy language, especially by French speakers. This is a serious mistake! While French is often difficult because of the many grammatical exceptions, particularly regarding spelling, English is endowed with immense complexity in terms of its sounds. Whereas the French speaker complains about itchy eyes, the English speaker will have difficulty hearing you, and no, it's not snobbery; their ear has been educated in a more subtle way. The greatest difficulties in English come from its chaotic sounds, which at first seem absurd or even useless, while they are proof of the many influences and transformations of this language, which has become the de facto lingua franca almost everywhere on the planet. To simplify, English is the result of a Germanic invasion of Celtic lands, Latinized by Vikings speaking Old French from Normandy. The syntax is originally Germanic, but the auxiliary verb do is Celtic, and more than half of its vocabulary is Latin or French! In short, English is much more complex and subtle than it seems, and it's not for nothing that most French speakers pronounce it badly!
