Learn Estonian from Scratch: A Beginner-Friendly Introduction to Estonian Language

Want to start learning Estonian but don't know where to begin? You've come to the right place!
This class is designed for complete beginners and learners at A0-A2 level who want to build a practical foundation in Estonian.
We'll learn useful vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and everyday phrases through relaxed, interactive lessons. You'll practice introducing yourself, ordering food and drinks, asking for directions, talking about your daily life, shopping, making plans, and communicating in common situations in Estonia.
I'll explain grammar clearly, with plenty of opportunities to practise what you learn rather than simply memorizing rules.
By the end of the course, you'll have a foundation for handling everyday situations in Estonian and continuing toward greater fluency.
Classes can be adapted to your goals, whether you're planning on moving to Estonia, already living here, coming to visit, or you're just curious to learn Estonian.

Extra information
Please bring a notebook and something to write with. For online lessons, you'll need a stable internet connection, a working microphone, and Zoom downloaded on your computer or phone. No pressure to turn on your camera for every lesson! In-person lessons are available in Tallinn only.

About Me
I originally moved from Canada to Tallinn in 2024 to pursue my BA at Tallinn University, and to get in touch with my Estonian roots. I grew up speaking Estonian at home and have always been very immersed in and passionate about Estonian culture.
Spending three years as an Estonian teacher at the Hamilton Estonian school in Canada further ignited my passion for the language. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching children and teenagers Estonian, with most of them being complete beginners.
I'm happy to say that living in Estonia has exceeded my positive expectations. I love meeting locals and international residents, exploring Tallinn, and going to the gym in my free time.

Education
I'm currently in my third year at Tallinn University, pursuing my BA in Liberal Arts in Social Sciences. I also received my diploma at the Toronto Estonian Language School in 2018.
