I'm a French student in Stockholm and a native speaker, offering French lessons adapted to what you actually need.

About Me

I'm Nolan, 20, from Normandy in France, and I'm spending a semester in Stockholm as an exchange student.

My studies have taken me to France, Morocco, Singapore and now Sweden, which means I've spent the last two years regularly not speaking the language of the people around me. I know exactly how it feels to understand a sentence perfectly and still not dare to say it out loud, and that's the reason I teach. That kind of block isn't linguistic, it's about confidence, and confidence comes with practice.

As a teacher I'm patient and fairly relaxed. Mistakes are part of the process and I'd rather you speak badly for an hour than listen to me speak well for ten minutes. I enjoy working with people who have a clear goal (an exam, a trip, a class they're struggling with) but I'm equally happy with someone who just wants to keep the language alive.

Learning French can improve your Swedish skills by understanding the construction and origins of the words and the chords of words. Therefore, French is an accessible language for a Swedish speaker, and, as French is my mothertongue, I would be delighted to help you.

A typical lesson can be divided in different parts:
- audio/video extract (listening comprehension)
- text excerpt (reading comprehension)
- grammar & vocabulary
- talking exercises from the text and from the interactive media extract.

Language learning is supposed to be funny & playful to be efficient. So each lesson would be centred on a cultural topic (in accordance with the student hobbies). The different exercises will be based on this subject development. I suggest following ones around French culture: History, Litterature, Geography & Travelling, Music, Gastronomy, Other arts (film, painting, choragraphic).
