Hello! My name is Sunshine, and I am delighted to help you on your journey to learning Mandarin Chinese.

I have taught Chinese to students of different backgrounds and levels. With a strong academic foundation and years of experience in research, teaching, and communication, I offer students a clear, structured, and enjoyable way to master Mandarin.

I hold a PhD diploma and have an extensive academic background, which allows me to design highly logical and efficient learning plans. Over the years, I have guided students in improving their pronunciation, reading, writing, and overall communication skills. Many of them have gained confidence in daily conversations, academic Chinese, and professional communication.

In addition to language instruction, I can also teach Chinese recitation, reading comprehension, essay writing, and cultural topics. My teaching style is patient, warm, and well-structured, ensuring that students not only understand the language but also appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture.

About Me

.Customized materials – I design learning materials based on each student’s real-life needs (for example: reading bank slips and menus, talking with doctors, communicating during pregnancy, visiting an optician, daily small talk, etc.). My goal is to help students solve the actual Chinese problems they encounter in daily life or work.

.Self-made materials with audio – Most of my materials come with audio recordings so learners can improve listening and pronunciation at the same time (except for some files used only for character recognition practice).

.Pronunciation and listening training – I guide learners to become familiar with, distinguish, observe, and mimic different native accents, and to understand how Mandarin is naturally spoken in real conversations.

.Tone correction using pitch contour – I focus on helping learners feel the “shape” of tones (pitch contour) rather than just memorizing numbers or tone marks, which makes pronunciation more natural and stable.

.Traditional and Simplified Chinese characters – I help learners recognize and understand characters so they can deal with signs, messages, menus, and written information in their daily life.

.Group discussion & interaction – I encourage learners to express their own opinions, ask questions, and interact with others in Chinese in a relaxed environment.

.Role-play and improvisational conversation practice – We practice how to react, ask follow-up questions, and keep a conversation going when talking to native speakers, not just answering textbook questions.
