Hi I'm Hazel

Im a second year medical student at the University of St Andrews.
I achieved 9s in GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics and also received all As in these subjects at A Level.
I have some tutoring experience and am looking to gain more.
My aim is to help students work on the areas that they struggle with, help them gain more confidence in the subjects and hopefully improve their exam technique and grades.

About Me

Im a firm believer in student directed teaching and adapting my teaching style whether that means going through questions one by one, me marking practice exams or verbal/visual explanation.
The beginning classes will likely have a different style than the end classes as we learn what work best for students.
I do like to have some prep time so that I can gather materials.

I have an in depth knowledge of both the GCSE and Nat 5 curricula. I will identify the gaps in the student's knowledge or they can tell me what they are struggling in. I will teach in an adaptable manner, changing my style depending on what I think will benefit the student most. I will explain all the topics the student is even the slightest bit unsure about and will make sure they leave the class with much more confidence than when they entered

Hi! My name is Matt. I'm currently studying MSc in Mathematics at the University of Stirling. I've also graduated from the University of Abertay Dundee in Computer Science.

I'd like to offer you some help! My goal is to get you up-to-speed as quickly as possible, so you can become an independent learner and crash them exams!

I believe my task, on top of usual tutoring, is to also show you a path to become a better learner, mathematician or programmer! I use online courses on top of many other online resources which took me quite a while to discover but I am happy to share them with you!

- Mathematics on all levels up to to Scottish Baccalaureate.
- Programming in C++/Python/R/Java

I am also skilled in Games Programming and Data Science if that's something you'd like to tackle on!

The key is learning to synthesize new information while also gaining skills necessary for advancing in mathematics. I strive to help students build a mathematical intuition by using teaching techniques such as geometric proofs and story proofs. My hope is that students will not simply learn to complete assignments and find the right answer, but rather that they would develop a "healthy relationship" with maths based on understanding, exploration, creativity, and imagination.

Ideal for UK students in secondary school and sixth form or American students in high school and late middle school. I am also happy to tutor through SAT and ACT mathematics!
