In today’s digital world, having the skills to use the internet is essential. Digital skills are now as important as subjects like Math, English, and Science. Yet, about one in ten people in the UK have never used the internet and miss out on internet opportunities. This lack of access limits opportunities, from personal connections to daily needs.

If you're struggling to use the internet, don’t be discouraged. With practice and persistence, you can become confident getting online and using the services. Here’s why learning digital skills matters and how they can benefit your life:

Benefits of Digital Skills:
• Stay connected: Communicate easily with family and friends, no matter the distance.
• Manage health: Access health services, book appointments, and stay on top of wellness.
• Well-being and hobbies: Explore personal interests and favorite activities, and engage in online communities.
• Online shopping: Conveniently buy things like groceries and shopping from home, saving time and effort.
• Banking made easy: Handle finances securely, track expenses, and pay bills online.
• Stay safe online: Avoid scams, prevent online fraud, and stay safe while browsing.

By building digital skills, you can enrich your life, stay connected, and take advantage of everything the online world offers.

The study sessions will take place in the following stages:

Step 1: An assessment will be carried out to identify the areas where gaps exist.
Step 2: A personalised lesson plan will be created to address the gaps, focus on specific topics, and determine the number of hours of work needed.
Step 3: Assignments will be provided to practice the sessions daily and build confidence using digital skills.

Let's get to work, register now to become a digital expert! You can do it. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to help you.

Teaching is one of my passions, I also love learning and desire to help others succeed in their studies. I can help tutor Maths at the following levels KS1, KS2, and KS3. Whatever topic you find challenging I can help you to understand maths easily and effortlessly. I am very caring, patient, empathetic, friendly, and approachable. I will listen, understand, identify, and support students in a nurturing learning environment.

The study sessions will be structured as follows:

Step 1: An assessment of the student's current level to identify any existing gaps.
Step 2: Create a personalised lesson plan to address the gaps, with a clear focus on specific topics, and determine the hours of work needed.
Step 3: Reviewing curriculum requirements, we stay in contact with the teacher and follow a consistent approach so that students are well-prepared for the curriculum.
Step 4: Practice assignments will be provided for each math session to reinforce learning and help students gain proficiency in the topics.

Together we can make learning math engaging, enjoyable, and fun. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if you have any questions. I will be happy to help you.

Education: I hold a degree BSc(Hons.) Mathematical Sciences and a Ph.D in a related IT field, which can provided as requested. I have an Enhanced DBS.

Objective: To understand AI without fear, to use it to simplify one's life and to know how to identify digital traps.

1: Demystifying AI (What exactly is it?)
AI is not a movie robot: Difference between fiction and reality.

How it works (simply): The image of the "giant library": AI has read billions of books and uses them to predict the continuation of a sentence or create an image.

Where is it already present? Spell checkers, Netflix/YouTube suggestions, GPS, and voice assistants (Siri/Alexa).

2: Using AI to make life easier
Conversing with AI (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini):

Ask him to write an administrative email or a complex letter.

Summarize a long newspaper article or document.

Plan a travel itinerary or find recipe ideas with what's left in the fridge.

AI for creativity and memory:

Generate images to illustrate a birthday card (Midjourney, DALL-E).

Using AI to restore or colorize old family photos.

3: Learning to "talk" to AI (The Art of the Prompt)
The context method: Why "Give me a cake recipe" is less effective than "I am allergic to gluten and I am hosting 4 people, give me a simple chocolate cake recipe".

The expert's role: Learning to tell AI "Act like a travel guide" or "Act like an expert gardener".

4: Precautions and Critical Thinking (The Survival Guide)
"Hallucinations": Understand that AI can make false claims with complete certainty (never take medical or legal advice from AI without verification).

Privacy protection:

Never give sensitive data (social security number, passwords, bank details) to an AI.

Knowing that everything we write to the AI is potentially used to train it.

Spotting "Deepfakes":

How to recognize a doctored image or video (details on the hands, strange reflections, slightly metallic voice).

Verify the information: the golden rule of cross-referencing sources.

5: Ethics and Impacts (To go further)
Copyright: Who owns an image created by AI?

The environmental impact: The water and energy consumption of AI servers.

The future: Will AI replace us or assist us?
