About Me

I am a reviewer, novelist, and poet whose work has appeared in over a dozen journals, magazines, and literary festivals—and been nominated or a finalist for 3 awards, including the Pushcart and Omnidawn Chapbook Prize.

I have worked on hundreds of translations, as well as dozens of presentations to corporate sponsors and grant applications for the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV). I've also taught English at Intermediate and Advanced levels to all age groups, from elementary to college students to young professionals aged 18 to 60.

I founded the 2nd Creative Writing Program for ELLs at the Brooklyn Public Library in 2016 (the only one of its kind in NYC), and have been offering mentorship and editorial skills—from manuscript counseling to graduate school applications—through nonprofit organization Brooklyn Poets, since 2018. BA in Philosophy from Vassar College (Phi Beta Kappa, and with an Honor in Philosophy, 2012)

MFA in Creative Writing from The New School (with the Citation of Excellence awarded by Pulitzer nominee Laurie Sheck, 2017)

- Judging Committee for the 2019 Whitman Bicentennial Award
- Advanced editorial mentorship to college and MFA applicants, as well as manuscript consultations, for professional writers through nonprofit Brooklyn Poets' platform, the Bridge
- Assistant for the Design Biennale at the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV), where I translated over 200 project submissions into English, prepared a dozen presentations to corporate sponsors, and drafted grant applications for a dozen artists
- Creative Writing Program for English Language Learners at the Brooklyn Public Library: the only program of its kind in NYC
- Upper Intermediate to Advanced classes for students and young professionals (ages 18 to 60) at Willow Language School in Maputo, Mozambique
- Language classes to elementary school students on a special fellowship at Willow Language School
