I'm a native brazilian, and I've been teaching portuguese as a foreign language for more than 5 years. In my trajectory, I've worked with people interested in traveling and tourism, people working in international companies and students preparing to go to brazilian universities or doing proficiency exams. My background education is in Cultural Studies and Arts, which makes literature and language a real passion. Besides portuguese, I speak fluently english and spanish, and I have some basic knowledge in french. The classes are always designed according to the interests and objectives of each student. I believe in a multiple approach to language learning, which means that I often include materials related with lusophone culture such as films, music and literature. Then, depending on the student's requests and difficulties, I re-explain certain poorly understood theoretical concepts and solve exercises with him. I favor understanding by heart because I consider that memorization is only rarely necessary in math and science.
