After my Bachelor's degree in Sinology at Ghent University I lived in Chengdu from 2013 to 2017, I am currently back for my Master's in Sinology and I would like to help people who want to learn Chinese or want to learn more about "life in China"

My Mandarin is upper-intermediate with an HSK level 5 and knowledge of the Sichuan dialect.

This class is for Chinese learning, My goal is to let you know the basement of how to pronunciation and how to write Chinese words.

I have 6 years of host experience and master standard Mandarin. And I know how to train your tongue.

More and more people are planning to learn Chinese for travel, work needs or simply because they are curious and interested in the language. The pronunciation and writing system of Chinese is very different from that of the Dutch and Latin languages, and it also becomes a huge obstacle in learning Chinese.

It is the aim of the courses I teach to help you overcome all obstacles in the Chinese learning process. As a student of English literature, I can understand the relationship between languages and how I can help you create this relationship.

But with my 4 years of teaching Chinese as second language in University Gent as a full time lecture, 9 years experience in Wuhan University before I came to Belgium, my Belgian students starting from zero can managed to speak without foreign accent and pass HSK 4 after 1 year study. Hi! I'm Feiii, from China, currently a master's student in Data Science in Belgium. Talking to other people and help them with their Chinese is my happiness. One of my biggest interest is languages study. I learned a little Japanese before, I'm now learning Dutch, later I will learn some French.

I don't have any certificates, however, I do have some experiences for helping non-Chinese spearkers' oral Mandarin. My educational philosophy is "study smarter instead of harder", I always believe the best way to impove your language ability is to speak it out. After class we can also talk about data science / computer science, video games, chess, etc., if you're interested into that >^O

With my thorough knowledge of the Chinese language and culture, we will search together for the appropriate way to master the language. In my experience, everyone learns in a different way, so we will find out together what is the most fun!

I graduated in 2017 as a Sinologist at Ghent University (Chinese language and culture). I also obtained a master's degree at Sichuan University (四川大学) (2018). After that, I spent a few years in China. In addition to a basic course with an emphasis on oral, I create lessons that go beyond just language. Chinese language is embedded in culture and history, so we also take a moment to reflect on that. I have experience with private lessons for adults who move to China as expats, but the lessons are flexible and for all ages!

Lessons:
I use a basic Chinese course but there is a lot we can fill in ourselves. What kind of series/films do you like to watch? Is there any music you like to listen to? Through these questions I can recommend certain Chinese music and series that we can work with. For example, instead of homework I will give a film to watch, this way we learn through absorption instead of forcing ourselves to remember everything. If it is fun, everything sticks better!

Would you like to focus more on speaking instead of writing or vice versa? That is possible, in which situations would you like to use Chinese? For work or for a trip? That way we can adapt the lessons to personal wishes.

Once we have progressed a bit further, I also organize lessons and dinners with Chinese friends in Ghent or Brussels, so we can practice with real "native speakers".
