About Me
Ignazio "Iggy" Di is an Italian guitarist, singer, composer, songwriter, producer, and music educator. He began studying music at the age of 9, initially inspired by Blues-Rock icons like Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Robben Ford, Ritchie Kotzen, and Gary Moore, before discovering Progressive Rock, Jazz, and Classical music.

Deciding to pursue music professionally, he focused on classical guitar at the "Vincenzo Bellini" Conservatory under the guidance of Maestro Francesco Buzzurro, where he obtained his First Level Diploma. At the age of 16, he composed his first instrumental Progressive-Rock demo, "Where Do the Thoughts Come From?", earning recognition as a young talent from several major magazines, including "Top Demo" honors from Metal Shock, Chitarre, Raw&Wild, and Metal Hammer.

In 2008, he graduated in Business Economics from Luigi Bocconi University in Milan. Simultaneously, he completed five years of dedicated training at the Accademia Civica "Claudio Abbado" in Milan, having the privilege of studying under Franco Cerri, a pioneering figure in Italian jazz guitar. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Jazz from the "Antonio Vivaldi" Conservatory of Music in Alessandria.

His technical prowess earned him prestigious awards and scholarships at a young age, including Best Guitarist at Berklee Umbria Jazz 2009 and Nuoro Jazz 2010. He won first prize in the "Ziua Chitarelor 2" competition in Bucharest, impressing a distinguished jury that included Jennifer Batten (M.Jackson's Guitarist), Andreas Öberg, Michael Lee Firkins, Stu Hamm, and Damjan Pejcinoski. He was also selected as one of the 12 global finalists for Guitar Idol 2011 from over 1,030 guitarists worldwide. Following this, he joined the JTC_Guitar Artists roster, where his instrumental song received widespread acclaim, garnering more than 700,000 views on YouTube. During this period, he opened for Reb Beach and Guthrie Govan with his trio in Milan.

Iggy studied Fusion-Jazz guitar with Alex Stornello and served as the founder and director of the Modern Music Institute (MMI) in Milan from 2010 to 2013. He contributed educational articles and videos to Guitar Club Magazine and introduced his signature "Gnazz tap-pick," an innovative guitar pick designed for eight-finger tapping. His reach extended to mainstream media when he appeared as the guitarist in the global Peugeot 208 GTI commercial. In 2014, he released his debut instrumental album, "A Gift to the World," to critical acclaim.

In 2013, he moved to Belgium, where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Music Didactics from the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. He began performing extensively across the BeNeLux jazz scene, covering styles from Fusion and Bebop to Jazz Manouche. Simultaneously, he spent over a decade working as a live and studio session musician across genres like Pop-Rock, Funk, and Soul. He served as a jazz guitar teacher for the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and conducted clinics for Ibanez Benelux.

During this time, he also refined his vocal skills at the Universal Voice Institute in Amsterdam under Alberto Ter Doest and Marcela Bovio.

As the founder and creative leader of the symphonic-progressive metal band Silent Utopia, he released both an EP and a full-length album. He served as the project’s main songwriter, orchestral arranger, guitarist, and keyboardist, securing prestigious sponsorships from Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and SABAM. For these releases, he collaborated with top metal producer Joost Van Den Broek (Epica, Blind Guardian, Ayreon, Powerwolf).

Over the last few years, Iggy shifted his artistic focus toward his true passion: expressing himself as a Rock-Blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter inspired by Jeff Buckley, Miles Kennedy, Ritchie Kotzen, and John Mayer.

Now based in Warsaw, Poland, he works as a session guitarist, full-time music teacher, and solo Blues-Rock artist. He is currently studying sound engineering at HOFA College while writing his upcoming album. In 2024, he released two new singles, "Learn The Hard Way" and "Safe and Warm," which reflect his current artistic evolution as a singer-guitarist and songwriter.

Iggy proudly endorses Victory Amps and Ibanez Guitars.

The course that I propose is BILINGUAL FRENCH / ENGLISH, as well as 2 BOOKS.

Age and musical taste are not restrictive when in the program, you can with qualitative daily work (not quantitative) quickly observe your progress.

Here the pleasure of playing music is put forward.

The kind of music you love most will be the focus of the course, their codes and secrets will be the focus of our study, that's what I want to share with you.

We can do technical lessons and simply learn together how to play one or more songs of your choice or mine, enrich your game with this approach and your repertoire!

(For example, We can re-arrange the pieces and make them more original by approaching the system (CAGED), and enriching their chords, resulting in new positions, new techniques and new sounds, using arpeggio techniques rather than strumming for 4-chord pieces, voicing and fingerstyle techniques, in short, expanding the instrument's playing fields and playing skills to keep progressing in your game and improve your rehearsals ...)

If you make a request, this program is obviously accompanied by the pleasure of learning more in theory and being able to directly apply new knowledge on its instrument and identify its common or rare use in the pieces discussed in class.

In this case, the theory is translated to be accessible to anyone, both for those who are connoisseurs and for those who discover everything from absolute zero.
The exercises, songs, and theoretical explanations offered throughout the program are organized in an order of progressive difficulty.

I wrote and produced 2 books of my method to learn the guitar and the music, that I sell to accompany my course and your apprenticeship in the best conditions and so that you can continue the course even at home and to review etc ... .
There is ONE BOOK OF COURSES containing all the theoretical and practical program of the year, as well as a BOOK OF EXERCISE on the ranges and the modes that you can obtain directly.

Would you classify improvisation as composition or performance? Well actually it is both! When you improvise you are composing music on the spot, performing what you have made up at the same time as you have composed it.

For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease.

The key to success is understanding chords. Once you know how chords are formed and know what notes make up a few chords you will be well on your way towards being able to improvise. We will, therefore, start by ensuring a firm knowledge of certain chords. After this we will progress to improvising a simple melody over the top of these chords. The next stage is to start using notes that are not in the chord. The process is then open ended with emphasis on developing the melody.

If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session.

Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

PROFESSIONAL GUITARIST, COMPOSER, MUSIC AND GUITAR TEACHER

Beginner-Advanced Level

Experience:
I am a professional musician and have been teaching students of all ages for over 20 years. My experience as a teacher and my pursuit of self-improvement as a musician have led me to develop an effective method that I have already tested with over a hundred students.
Throughout my career I had the satisfaction of studying with great masters of different specialties or styles, each one emphasizing different aspects of flamenco, classical or modern guitar and each one has given me their approach (technique, rhythms, accompaniment, harmony, etc.), which has led me after years of study and compilation to take the best from each one to develop my method.

My role in my classes is more that of a personal trainer than a teacher, where I will be very attentive to bringing out the best in my students, finding the right technique to help them develop a good rhythm, working on their rhythm, etc.
For me, the role of a teacher, in addition to teaching, is to be part of a team, to maintain morale and constantly improve oneself while always maintaining a love for music.

Methodology:
I tailor the lessons to the student's level, style, or goals. Generally, the first half of the lesson is dedicated to technique, focusing on proper placement, execution, and relaxation, which will result in a good sound. Over time, I've realized that it's also a way to connect with the guitar, concentrate, and warm up. So, little by little, we'll develop our routine, which will begin by working on basic rhythmic aspects.
The second half is dedicated to playing, trying to put into practice what we learned about the technique with the sticks or studying other concerns of the student, which may be a theme, harmony, falsetas, improvisation, or even other styles, etc., always obviously taking into account the search or interest of the student.

FLAMENCO
- Flamenco technique
- Palos (Tangos, Bulerías, Alegrías, Soleá, Taranta...)
- Accompaniment to singing and dancing
- Clapping and rhythms

MODERN GUITAR
- Harmony
- Improvisation
- Repertoire (rumbas, pop, jazz, rock, etc.)

CLASSIC

Hello! I am a professional music educator with 16 years of experience dedicated to making music an indispensable part of life rather than just a lesson. Throughout my career, I have mentored over 1,000 students individually, guiding hundreds of them to successfully enter Conservatories and Fine Arts High Schools. 🏆

My philosophy is simple: Music is loved first, then learned. I prioritize building a deep connection between the student and their instrument. Whether you want to master the Piano, Violin, Guitar, or Oud, I offer a holistic approach that combines technical skill, ear training, and rhythm development.

I don’t believe in rote memorization. My teaching system is based on logic and understanding the "mathematics" of music. By simplifying complex music theory and "Makam" knowledge into practical and engaging methods, I ensure my students reach a stage-ready level in as little as one year. 🎼

In my online studio, I provide a high-quality learning experience using multi-camera angles and professional sound setups that rival face-to-face lessons. Whether you are a preschooler, a young aspiring artist, or an adult beginner, I create personalized, goal-oriented roadmaps to help you reach your musical dreams. 🌍

Let’s start this journey together and build a solid foundation that lasts a lifetime

Guitar Lessons

My lessons are focused on playing the music you actually enjoy. Whether you want to learn rock, metal, riffs, solos, songwriting, or simply become a better guitarist, we set a clear goal from the very first lesson and work toward it.

I use Songsterr to learn songs, so you can start playing real music from your very first class. I don’t believe in overwhelming students with unnecessary theory. Of course, I’ll explain the theory when it helps you understand what you’re playing, but the main focus is always on practical skills and playing.

Lessons are relaxed, friendly, and adapted to your level and goals. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, experimenting, and developing your own style.

You can bring your favourite songs and artists to the lessons, and we’ll use them as a starting point to improve your technique and musicality.

Rock and metal are my main specialties, but I’m happy to work with anyone who wants to learn guitar and become a better musician.

Hi !

Coming from a family of musicians, I started playing music very young, with the trumpet, giving me a strong rhythmic and theoretical foundation, then I started playing guitar about ten years ago.

I can adapt to any style of music and have had access to different teaching methods allowing me to adapt to each student.

However, I have a specialty in metal and rock where we could go further

The lessons I offer are suitable for all levels, whether you are a beginner or advanced. I can support you in your projects, whether it's playing your favorite songs, learning and discovering new styles, or progressing with specific techniques; we will work together to achieve your goals.
I also have extensive experience in groups and on stage which allows me to coach you on the stage aspect, or on vocal accompaniment if you are interested.
I can also give you solfège lessons, whether it's to improve your knowledge of harmony, rhythm, reading, or other aspects.

Would you like to play your favorite artists' songs on the guitar? 🎸🎶

In these classes, you'll learn in a practical, dynamic way, perfectly tailored to your musical tastes. You choose the songs, artists, or styles you love, and we'll work together so you can learn to play and accompany them on the guitar.

You'll learn chords, chord changes, rhythms, strumming patterns, and different accompaniment techniques, always applied to real songs. The goal isn't simply to memorize songs, but to gradually understand how they work so you can learn new songs on your own.

The classes are adapted to all levels. If you're starting from scratch, we'll go step by step so you can begin playing your first songs from the beginning. If you already have some guitar experience, we'll work on improving your rhythm, technique, and accompaniment skills.

We can work on pop, rock, rumba, flamenco, singer-songwriter songs, and many other styles. From artists like Estopa, Melendi, Pablo Alborán, Manuel Carrasco, or Fito y Fitipaldis, to any group or singer that's part of your favorite music.

If you also like to sing, we can also work on how to accompany you on the guitar.

🎵 You choose the music.
🎸 I'll help you learn to play it.
📈 And little by little you will acquire the tools to learn many more songs on your own.

Tell me what song or artist you'd like to play and we'll get started!

I speak Dutch at an intermediate level, which is improving every day.
