About Me
Whenever I go out, I carry paper, pencils and markers in my backpack (in recent years I have also started using an iPad) so I can draw whenever I want, and when I come across a scene that catches my attention, I stop and draw there while standing.
For about four years I continued with my spontaneous project “Everyday I draw Barcelona”, in which I drew a scene from a different corner of Barcelona every day. I am attracted by everyday scenes, far from the hustle and bustle of tourist places and where you can feel the breath of the local people.
Drawings created by immersing oneself in an outdoor space over a period of time have the power to convey the atmosphere of that place and moment, and I believe that a spatial composition drawn from one's own perspective can be expressed in a different way than a photograph. The drawings have been captured in art prints, t-shirts, bags and other products that are available for sale in shops in Barcelona and online.
I am currently working on a series of drawings depicting the scenery of all the stations on the Toyoko Line as a modern version of Edo ukiyo-e.

Education
Born in Tokyo. After graduating from Keio University, I studied graphic design in Milan, and lived in Barcelona since 2008. Since April 2024, I have returned to Japan for an extended period for the first time in 18 years.
