Having 6 years of teaching experiences, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the course of learning piano.
I attended Gyeonggi Arts High School and have obtained my Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from Sookmyung Women's University.
I teach at student's home and I will be happy to work around the lesson times with students schedule as well.

I am a music educator. From Hong Kong. I can play piano, violin and cello. I play cello in an orchestra and also a piano accompanist. I am a jury in Music Competition in Hong Kong and gains numbers of " Best Teacher Award" . I speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English. I specialize in tutoring beginners. However, I love teaching seniors and advanced players. I have been tutoring for 20 years to the age from 3 to 80. It has been a great time to discuss music with all level of students. Students not only learn technical skills, they will also learn music history, theory, and performance skills. Most of my students took part in competitions and in orchestras.

My piano lessons are for those interested in playing the piano, whether you want to learn for fun or music theory. I will teach you the basic and most important skills of playing the piano and let you enjoy music and the atmosphere throughout the course. You can also learn how to play classical or pop songs in this course. In particular, I can teach you how to learn and then play pop songs within 10 minutes.

I hold a Master of Music degree in piano performance (with merit) at Goldsmiths, University of London and have taught piano and music theory to students in Hong Kong, Beijing, Zhejiang and London for over fifteen years.

I welcome students from beginner to advanced level and am equally happy to help my students pass music exams or just learn to play piano for their own enjoyment.

When teaching kids and beginners, I strictly follow the traditional conservatory method of training the postures, fingers and muscles properly from the very beginning of the learning process. And for kids, I highly recommend that parent(s) can help monitor their practice at home.

For adult students, the most important thing is to analyse your performance, to find the problems that prevent you from playing better, face them and fix them. I provide creative solutions according to your conditions. I helped a senior student (60+ years old) to pass ABRSM Grade 8 with merit, a 20-year-old student to play keyboard and sing in his band after 10 lessons, and a high school student to get music scholarship in UK.

I believe in the power of encouragement and motivation. And always remember, practice makes perfect.

It's more important that students learn to develop a good habit, a worthwhile hobby, and the perseverance that will benefit their whole life.

About the class:
This class aims to prepare for the ABRSM piano grade 1-8 test at a more intensified pace. The student is supposed to possess certain musical knowledge or required piano skills. The teacher will help the students develop their missing skills to pass the exam. Different students may require different class lengths.

For a child under the age of six, the teacher recommends less time for each class but a higher frequency. Kids who took the piano class twice a week and half an hour each class usually progress faster than those who took it once a week. For kids who practice longer time, it is also advised to take the course longer time. A child who practices two hours a day could play Beethoven's Fur Elise within one year, but for a child who practices less than half an hour per day, this goal usually takes more than four years to achieve.
For adults who have greater self-control, it is advised to take the class for a longer time per class but with less frequency.

About the price:
It’s not fixed, depending on the distance. If the travel time is less than half an hour to the students’ home, the price will be the same as at the teacher’s home.

Instrumental lessons of piano or clarinet, theory is usually alongside unless you would like to do it exclusively on top of your existing instrumental class.
