Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced musician looking to expand your creativity, my lessons are tailored to your personal goals and interests.

With over 16 years of piano experience, I can help you develop strong technique, musicality, and confidence at the piano while keeping lessons enjoyable and engaging. We can work on learning songs you love, reading sheet music, ear training, rhythm, and piano technique.

For students who want to go beyond simply playing notes on a page, I also specialize in improvisation, composition, and music production. Learn how to create your own melodies, improvise freely, understand harmony and chord progressions, compose original pieces, and bring your musical ideas to life.

Interested in producing music? I can introduce you to modern music production techniques, recording, arranging, and the creative process behind creating professional songs.

Every lesson is adapted to the student's level, learning style, and musical taste. Whether your dream is to play your favorite songs, compose original music, improvise confidently, or produce your own tracks, I'll help you build the skills to get there while enjoying the journey.

Lessons are available in English and Spanish and can be taught in person.

About Me
Hi! I'm Aritz, a pianist, composer, and music producer with over 16 years of experience playing piano and creating music.

Music has been one of the biggest passions in my life for as long as I can remember. While I have studied piano technique and music theory extensively, what excites me most is helping people discover their own creativity and enjoyment through music.

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly personalized. Every student learns differently, so I adapt each lesson to your goals, interests, and learning style. Some students want to play their favorite songs, others want to improve their technique, and some are interested in improvisation, composition, or music production. Together, we build a learning plan that fits what inspires you.

I believe music should be both challenging and enjoyable. Rather than focusing only on exercises and theory, I try to help students understand how music works, develop confidence at the instrument, and express themselves creatively.

I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners taking their first steps at the piano to experienced musicians looking to expand their skills in improvisation, songwriting, composition, or production.

Whether your goal is to play for fun, create original music, perform confidently, or explore a deeper understanding of music, I would be happy to help you on your journey.

I specialized in contemporary music composition in Bucharest, Birmingham and Paris having finished with honors my Bachelor, my Master and my Doctorate degree in this field. I also have a pedagogical degree and 2 years of experience in which I taught music composition, musical forms, poliphony, orchestration, music theory and solfege at the National University of Music from Bucharest. In 2022 I finished a 2nd Master's Degree in Film Music Composition at the ZHdK.

This class is for both beginners who want to compose music as a hobby and to aspiring professional composers. The main topic of my doctoral thesis was the compositional idea and the processes involved in the creative undertakings. How does one reach the final stage of a composition from just a few ideas? How can we improve this endeavour? What strategies and techniques are needed in order to do that?

The class will be customized for each student so in order to achieve a certain objective in music composition the lessons can include elements of music theory, harmony, poliphony, orchestration, improvisation, music notation (Finale & Dorico) and music production (StudioOne).

Although solfege and improvisation are extremely useful (I dare say even indispensable) for a professional composer, they can also be means to an end for passionate music lovers. Solfege and strategies that come with it can help your singing and music sight reading. And improvisation is such a fun and relaxing activity that I think everybody should do it!
