About Me

I have always loved understanding the world around me, and this naturally led me to science. Now a second-year student at EPFL in Environmental Science and Engineering, I want to share this curiosity and help students progress with confidence in subjects that can sometimes be demanding, such as mathematics and physics.
I obtained a dual Esabac diploma (French Baccalaureate + Esame di Stato in science), which gave me a solid scientific foundation as well as a particular affinity for language learning. I am bilingual in Italian, and I love teaching this language, especially through discussion, practice, and simple explanations of grammar and conjugation.
As a teacher, I am patient, structured, and attentive. I always adapt my lessons to the student's needs: some need to review the basics, others to solidify their methodology, and still others to prepare for an exam. Students can send me their questions or the lesson topic in advance, which allows me to prepare a clear, effective, and personalized session.
I mainly teach remotely, which offers great flexibility and allows me to work in a comfortable environment, with suitable materials (diagrams, exercises, step-by-step explanations).
I enjoy working with motivated, curious students, or those simply ready to progress at their own pace. My goal is always the same: to make concepts understandable, restore confidence, and show that everyone can succeed with the right method and supportive guidance.

EPFL: currently in the 2nd year of a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Engineering, a multidisciplinary course combining mathematics, physics, chemistry, geosciences and programming.

Experience / Qualifications

I have already given several private lessons in mathematics, physics, and Italian, mainly to secondary school students. I particularly enjoy supporting students over the long term, monitoring their progress, and adapting my teaching method to their needs.
I also completed two internships in demanding scientific environments:
CERN: discovering the different research sectors and immersing oneself in an international scientific environment.
MeteoSwiss: participation in the collection, analysis and visualization of atmospheric data.
In parallel, I worked two summers in restaurant service, an experience that taught me rigor, stress management, clear communication and a sense of contact — qualities that I find today in my way of teaching.

As a student myself, I always share the same experiences and stressful phases as my students (difficult lessons to understand, exams, assignments, etc.), and I find this to be a major asset in one-on-one tutoring. It's a close connection that most qualified teachers overlook, which prevents them from understanding the student's difficulties.

I am currently in my second year at EPFL and passed my first year on my first attempt. In addition to good results at the pre-university level, I continue to excel in my studies (5.25/6 average) and am developing rigor, composure under stress, excellent organizational skills, and above all, a demanding work ethic.
In terms of my career path, I am considering a Master's degree in Robotics at EPFL as well, because it is a subject that I am passionate about.

To best teach a student struggling with a scientific subject, I believe it's crucial to vary the methods and terminology used. A perspective different from that of a high school/college (or even middle school) teacher can shed light on a topic sometimes perceived as "complicated".
That is why I try to be as close as possible to the student, to understand their interests, in order to give simplified, visual, schematic explanations that are easily understood by the student, and that remain a clear reference.

To make the most of our time with the student, I try to prepare each lesson meticulously. To do this, I will ask the student about their needs for the next lesson (if they have specific requirements, for example, a test in class or a lesson they didn't understand), or I will prepare a personalized learning plan as best I can.
