My name is Stefan and I shall be your teacher! :-D

I have been a musician from a very young age, starting on electric guitar and loving to make awesome loud noises! ...Then around the age of fifteen, I started playing other instruments and singing and joining bands. I started to appreciate all forms of music and instruments and just wanted to play everything. I have performed in several different bands and produced a lot of music of various styles. I have a diploma and degree in music. I play guitar, bass, drums, violin, mandolin, piano and Chinese fiddle. I also sing and rap and write songs. I have been a music tutor and online English tutor in various forms over the last ten years. :-)

I know what it's like to want to just express yourself and keep music fun! It's the most important part of it. It's why we all do it. To enjoy ourselves. So! That is what I aim for in my lessons. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician.

I have had a great interest in composing for over 45 years. I have composed for various combinations of instruments and voices in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities.
