Like most musicians, I have long wondered how we could "organize" the learning of music by avoiding waste of time, energy, "repetition" and discouragement in front of such work ...

My approach focuses on 3 important points: the development of the inner ear, the knowledge of Harmony and the mastery of the instrument.

To describe a sound:
The auditory recognition of rhythms and heights makes it possible to develop the ear, by recording audio tracks directly on the instrument and / or on the score. To have a good ear is to recognize and name a sound (rhythm, interval, tone, chord, cadence ...).

Understand the musical grammar:
Harmony consists in explaining what are the chords and their sequences in various styles. The knowledge of Harmony helps a lot to choose the right nuances and good accents in the interpretation of a piece (including current music). It is essential for those who wish to compose or arrange.

Find effective positions on the instrument:
Finally, a reflection on the choice of fingerings greatly facilitates the interpretation of even very difficult pieces, and improves the sound result.

Imagine that the Music is a Planet, the 3 points above would be 3 angles of view different from this one: Harmony and analysis would be the hidden face, the ear would be the visible face and the game instrumental the surface ...

About Me
In the 80s and 90s, I first studied Classical Guitar in various music schools in the Lyon area and I spent some small regional competitions until DEM. I do not know if this is still the case, but at the time, the disciplines were quite siled. I felt that something was missing ...

So I became interested in Piano and Jazz. I then worked on writing and counterpoint (which I also followed until the DEM) at the Conservatoire de Lyon, which was certainly my most interesting and formative experience.

In hindsight, I realize that my job was to put together the pieces of a big puzzle. Once this one gathered, friends and relatives began to ask me questions on the music, the Piano, the Guitar ... and for some, these discussions turned into real course. I had already replaced some teachers, but I had not specifically planned to become one at the start. And then the desire to help others took me, and here I am!

Professional musician and certified music teacher (CAPES), I offer private piano lessons for all ages and all styles (variety, classical, jazz, pop) in my home studio (fully equipped).

Teacher in different contexts (college, FAC, music school, at home) and facilitator for years (BAFA), I am used to teaching a different audience: young, older, difficult audiences, musicians or not. .

We can learn to read a score for the more ambitious, discover American chords to move towards jazz or pop, learn to improvise and understand the relationships between each scale to be able to master our instrument as much as possible.

The course takes place in joy and good humor while trying to always give your best to progress!

All people who want to discover the piano as well as music theory, even without any musical background, are welcome☺️

Whether you are an adult or younger, did you know that with the proper methods, follow-up and advice, you can reach in 2 years the equivalent of what is achieved in 10 years in music school? The passion and pleasure of playing will quickly make you forget the minimum 1h30 of daily practice necessary for this beautiful and pleasant feat. This is the challenge I set myself by offering you these courses.

Practicing classical guitar for 27 years, graduated from the National Conservatory of Limoges, I teach guitar (beginner to advanced levels).

My method is distinguished by a perfect combination of high standards and attention paid to the pleasure of playing.

Passionate about music theory (rhythms, musical notations and other aspects that seem tedious to many), I know how to transmit this taste for musical technique.

The pleasure of play develops when you feel your progress, and these come with regular work. I therefore ask for attendance and regularity of at least 1 hour of practice per day. Depending on the students, the frequency of lessons can be bi-weekly or bi-monthly, and will be defined together, while remaining flexible.

I can also advise you on the purchase of a classical guitar.

Note: the practice of the classical guitar requires short nails on the left hand, and nails overflowing just beyond the tip of the finger, on the right hand, at all times. This allows an inimitable sound quality.

Examples of pieces you will be able to play after a year: works by Bach, Giuliani, Fernando Sor, Carcassi, Aguado, Jeux Interdits, baroque flamenco, romantic works

Ideal for all ages who want to learn to play chords on guitar or piano. I also enjoy teaching the art of music writing.

I teach music in the most engaging way possible: by learning your favorite songs. You'll learn the basics of simple chords, how to use them in songs you already know, and then learn how to play them.
Of course, there will be some theory, but we will rely more on the ear than on tedious scores!

I teach in English, so it's a plus if you need help with the language or English phrases!

I also teach you how to create your own compositions on guitar and piano, and how to make them more original with interesting chord changes. And, of course, I can also teach you how to write songs that sound good in English.

Ideal for beginners or those looking to get started in composing pop, indie or soul music.

I'm a British singer-songwriter and producer based in New York City. I've written over 100 songs and perform regularly in New York City. In 2023, I was selected for a three-month artist residency in Memphis, Tennessee, where I composed a wide range of new material, from dark, introspective folk to energetic indie rock.
