About Me

Hello, my name is Hoshi. I am a Japanese tutor who loves languages from childhood, it gives me a great joy to listen to what people are passionate about and their life stories as well. I enjoy anime, movies, music, books and cooking. By the way my favorite animal is cats.

Education

Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. State University of New York at Potsdam. What I dedicate for whole my university years is how to teach, translate and proofread.

Experience / Qualifications

Over 14 years of teaching experience for students of any age (7 – 60 years). I have been teaching Japanese from beginner to advanced level.

Private students, university students, a consul and his family. I found that many people who made a great improvement in Japanese have three commons. One is a hobby they are into. Second is a desire of communication of how they would like to talk if they were fluent in Japanese. Third is a notice that heart matters.

I have helped students to prepare for Monbukagakusyo scholarship and JLPT exams by my experience as an examiner. Proofreading is one of what I dedicate my heart very much, respect what you wrote and do heart-to-heart proofreading to make your essay/document perfect in the way you wish.

As a native Spanish speaker who has been studying Japanese, I have noted various similarities between the languages. Noticing these can help you learn Spanish faster and acquire a more native accent.

NOTE: The instruction and discussion will mainly be conducted in English and Spanish. My Japanese fluency is at the conversational level, but I can understand and speak Japanese. The goal is to get you more comfortable speaking Spanish though, so please try your best! However, having studied various languages myself, I understand it can be stressful or intimidating to practice using a new language. We will work together!
