The TU Delft Aerospace Engineering Bachelor is one of the most prestigious bachelor programmes the Netherlands has to offer. With it being highly sought-after by students all around the globe, there is a highly competitive selection procedure which needs to be completed to get admitted to this popular degree. A massive part of this admission procedure is the selection exam, consisting of three different tests: Mathematics, Physics and First-Year Material.

As a cum laude graduated Aerospace Engineer at TU Delft, who has also been tutoring since 2017, I have a lot of valuable experience and knowledge of the program to help you out with the right preparation to get in. Moreover, after successfully helping more than 10 students secure a spot over the last three years, I have decided to prepare an additional custom lesson plan for each student, based on the admission syllabus, to ensure an even higher chance of admission.

With my calm and stepwise explanation, weaker topics will be addressed, and your solution procedures will be polished. Each lesson will either be theory, exercise-based or an opportunity to talk about the admission, student life, Delft, what to expect from the study and whether it is the right fit for you.

About Me
I am Roland, a calm and knowledgeable tutor when it comes to math or physics. I acquired this knowledge during my Aerospace Engineering study at the TU Delft, where I graduated with honours. Because I have been tutoring since I was in secondary school myself, I not only have the knowledge to help you out, but I am also able to explain these topics clearly to my students. Over the years, many of my students have passed with high grades for their exams; hopefully, you will be the next!
Education
I graduated cum laude in Aerospace Engineering at the TU Delft in June 2023. Additionally, I completed pre-university education in the nature and technics field at vwo-level.
Experience / Qualifications
I have been tutoring pupils since 2017 in math and physics, among other courses. Both on location and via online connections.

Math, calculus and physics can sometimes be overwhelming, especially when the theory or solving method is unclear. I am a cum laude Aerospace Engineering graduate from TU Delft and have helped other pupils with their problems since 2017. With my calm and stepwise explanation, a second view of the solution procedure is given, which is often what is missing. I tutor a variety of math and physics courses on both secondary and high school levels, but also at a scientific bachelor level. These can either be theory/exercise-based, but also exam preparation.

Looking for a highly experienced tutor for Math A, Math B, or lower-level math? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a former economics teacher with a first-degree teaching qualification who, since 2021, has dedicated myself entirely to tutoring various subjects. I did this because it allows me to do what I love most: explaining material, building student confidence, and working together to improve grades. This way, I've helped around 200 students achieve passing grades or even pass exams in recent years!

So, while I may be a former economics teacher, math is secretly my favorite subject! I love numbers and logical reasoning. I got a 9 for my final Math A grade in high school, and I always got 8s and 9s in math courses at university as well. So I can really help you with that. Maybe you'll even end up liking it as much as I do. ;-)

The structure of the tutoring is always determined in consultation, but generally, I'm a big fan of starting on assignments as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can quickly see what you can already do and what you're still struggling with. I help with that. This way, I avoid unnecessary explanations of things you already know. Moreover, you can then immediately apply the explanations you do need to an assignment. This way, the material sticks much better.

By the way, if you prefer tutoring at home, but I live too far away, consider trying online tutoring. I'm very experienced in that. I always give online tutoring via Google Meet, using a digital whiteboard where I can draw, color, paste, and type. This way, I can explain/demonstrate everything perfectly. I then share everything I've written on the whiteboard with you via WhatsApp so you can review all the explanations and solutions at your leisure after the lesson. Super convenient!

Finally, if I had to describe myself in a few words, they would be: knowledgeable, calm, reliable, approachable, committed and tidy.

Everyone learns differently. That's why I teach the way you want. You decide what you want to learn and how, including when your lesson takes place and how long it lasts.

I teach math to anyone who wants it, regardless of age or level, online or at my home in Velp. You can take tutoring or take a course. You can work towards an exam or simply learn out of interest. I can help you with your dyscalculia or dive deeper with you. Anything is possible. I can even provide appropriate teaching materials if needed.

In terms of mathematics, I have experience with all levels of pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO), senior general secondary education (HAVO), and pre-university education (VWO), as well as universities of applied sciences (HBO) and university. I have experience with Mathematics A, B, C, and D, as well as all kinds of mathematics not usually taught in secondary school, such as cryptography, linear algebra, group theory, advanced analysis/calculus, history of mathematics, topology, knot theory, and more. You can take lessons in these subjects with me as well.

I'm a qualified mathematics teacher. I have over 10 years of experience in education and have been teaching math and other subjects at a small secondary school for several years, where I'm also a team member. I write teaching materials that are used at various secondary and higher education schools. I have extensive experience with innovative teaching and one-on-one instruction.

If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Besides mathematics, you can also come to me for lessons in creative writing, music theory and art history.
