French is not only my mother tongue, but also my greatest love. As a French literature student for four years, I learned to understand the language, its roots, its uses. I like to combine cultural conversation, grammar, and literature, whatever the level, allowing you to perceive the language for what it represents, and how beautiful its complexities make it.
It is a practical approach, that allows you to start speaking as soon as possible, but also to understand french culture better, through its language and texts.
Although it may sound a bit complicated, I really think this approach works on every level. I worked for three years for the French government helping newcomers learn french and its culture, from age 7 to age 52 with great results : all of my former students are now integrated either in the school system or a work environment.
All special requests are also welcome, the method will be adapted to your needs should you have any.

Hi,

I am a 25 years old French girl with a passion for words. After graduating in Literature three years ago I have been exploring another aspect of the French culture by studying cuisine.
Although most of my friends would describe me as a cliché, I would imply say that I am a lover of France and its culture. I believe this is my greatest asset in teaching French : although I have an extensive knowledge of the language (I learned medieval French as well as latin in university and am grammar and spelling obsessed) I believe learning a language should be strongly intertwined with understanding where it comes from, and the culture that was built around it. I believe in learning from practical and cultural points of view : French literature, French films but also French history, food and even politics, cannot be separated from the tongue they revolve around.

To the uninitiated, a grammar book seems to be written in another language because the meaning of the words is incomprehensible. In a down-to-earth way, I'll translate the grammar into familiar words. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning while having a positive mindset.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
