COURSE FOR VOCALISTS / SINGER SONGWRITERS
"You don't need to be able to play the piano well to learn to accompany songs in a beautiful way in a short time"
Do you want that?
For example, because you want to learn to guide yourself better as a vocalist and/or singer-songwriter or other vocalists in your teaching practice?
That's possible with me.
I have developed a method that allows you to learn this quickly.
My method provides general insight very quickly and at the same time is focused on you as an individual from the start.
Skills/conditions required for this course:
- be able to read music notes
- basic knowledge of chords on the piano
- in possession of an (electric) piano
- time for daily tutorial
It concerns a course of 5 lessons, in principle during 5 consecutive weeks.
The first two lessons may be split so that I can help you on your way every few days.
Depending on your (style) taste and level, we determine together which songs we will tackle.
What you learn in 5 weeks you can apply to other songs after the course.
Of course you can also contact me for individual (piano) lessons, songwriting and theory.
Regards, Bart

Hello! My name is Luz. I am a singer, and I teach singing using the Rabine Method and the Alexander Technique. The Rabine Method is a vocal technique and pedagogy, and the Alexander Technique is a method developed to improve posture and the way we use our bodies.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE VOICE:

Singing has been a lifelong passion for me, but I used to be quite shy and introverted. I was afraid to sing in front of others, even though a part of me longed to do so. At the age of 15, I began taking singing lessons to create a safe space for myself to sing, where only my teacher would listen. Slowly, I started performing live and began to truly enjoy it. However, over time, I encountered difficulties with my vocal technique, and my enjoyment of singing faded. After an extensive search for the right teachers to help me overcome these challenges, I discovered the Alexander Technique and the Rabine Method. That's when my journey towards progress and joy truly began.

ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE AND THE RABINE METHOD:

The Alexander Technique teaches people how to reduce general body tension and move in harmony with their body's mechanics, paying close attention to the spine and joints. Within just three months of weekly lessons, I noticed improvements in both my posture and my voice. I came to understand that the vocal system is intricately connected to the entire body, and singing could be a harmonious experience for both my mind and my body. This newfound joy inspired me to help others in the same way, leading me to become an Alexander Technique teacher.

Around the same time, I also discovered the Rabine Method, an exceptional vocal technique with a profound understanding of the phonatory system and a clear pedagogical approach that caters to individual student needs. It is centered on recognizing the unique learning process of each student and determining what they are ready to absorb.

Through my lessons, my goal is to transmit the joy and happiness that singing can bring. I hope my students will learn to focus on the learning process and be surprised by the results. My teaching approach doesn't solely prioritize outcomes; it values the joy of the journey to get there. I firmly believe that everyone can sing because we all possess the same vocal system. The key lies in training and developing awareness of our current abilities so that we can work with what we bring to each lesson.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH STUDENTS:

I have worked with a diverse range of students, including those who:

- Initially struggled to sing in tune but made great improvements in less than a year.
- Were once extremely shy and introverted but experienced a boost in confidence and joy while singing in front of me.
- Were musicians with their own bands but lacked knowledge on how to care for their vocal cords during performances.
- Simply needed a supportive space to unleash their expressiveness and relish their voices.
- Had unpleasant experiences with previous teachers who crashed their confidence.
- Didn ́t like their own sound due to a disorganized technique

My approach is personal and tailored to the unique needs of each student. I am skilled in teaching vocal techniques, expanding vocal range, and harmonies. Additionally, I do not only focus on the technical aspects of singing but also on the art of conveying emotion and meaning through music.

- Vocal Technique: Learn essential techniques to maximize your voice, including breathing techniques, tone formation, and vocal control.
- Repertoire: Build a diverse repertoire and explore your creativity and expression.
- Improvisation: Work together to develop improvisation skills.
- Range Expansion: Increase your vocal range and explore new heights in your singing performance.
- Harmony Singing: Strengthen your skills in harmony singing and learn to sing together in perfect harmony.

- Group Lessons: Enjoy the power of collective learning and singing.

I began studying classical piano and music theory at the age of six, which gave me a strong foundation in musicianship from an early age. Later, I completed a bachelor's degree in World Music with Ottoman Singing as my main subject, allowing me to go beyond the basics and offer additional expertise in areas such as makam theory and microtonal singing. I also hold a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, which helps me approach teaching with both creativity and structured thinking. My interdisciplinary background has taught me to embrace diversity and think outside conventional boundaries — something I aim to bring into every lesson.

I strongly believe that everyone can sing, and there is no such thing as a dissonant voice. Together, we can unlock your voice and help you sing your favourite songs with confidence and passion. Come and discover the power and beauty of your own voice, and let's make music together.
