The most beautiful part about learning a new language is not just having the ability to speak an additional language; it also lets you learn about the culture and gives you the freedom to travel to more places by knowing the local language! I am a native Chinese speaker and have lived in the Netherlands for more than 6 years as an international student. I have also lived in the U.S. for 2 years before I came to the Netherlands. My background allows me to look at things from various perspectives and helps me understand different cultures. During my time here, I have been teaching and tutoring Chinese for children from different age groups. I make my class interactive as well as fun by using different teaching materials and topics that would be interesting for the students!
I also provided a cultural learning session where I can help you to understand Chinese culture and how society and people are there, which is super helpful if you are planning a trip to China or having a business in China.

In 2023, I've obtained a Master degree in Linguistics at the University of Amsterdam. I've achieved the C1+ levels in English, on the CEFR scale. I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. I will introduce myself. My name is Lotte, I am 23 years old and I study Medicine at the VU in Amsterdam. In high school I attended bilingual education and lived for six months in Australia for my education. In addition, I also followed a minor Academic English at the VU. I have also been with my boyfriend, who is from London, for 2 years now. So, enough practice with the English language!

During this course I will help you to learn to speak, write, read and listen better English. We mainly do this through assignments that can be made online on a laptop. I will adapt my lesson to the wishes of the child / young person and his / her parents, or the adult I am going to supervise. There isn't a better way to teach your child a new language than through playing.
