My experience: my youngest student started at the age of 4, is now 12 and speaks it well, my oldest student is 79 years old. My current student levels are A1-C2 (HSK or TOCFL). I know and use most textbooks. This concerns books published in China, Taiwan and the Netherlands. The professional backgrounds of my students: teachers and academic staff, IT, civil and electrical engineers, managers, doctors and therapists, artists, architects, bankers and university students, high and primary school students. My name is Shiuan and I have been teaching Chinese since 2010. I am a certified Chinese (Mandarin) teacher with certificate from Leiden University ICLON. My parents and my grandfather are all professors of traditional Chinese literature in Taipei, so I have been immersed in Chinese language, literature and culture since a young age. Originally I was trained as an architect. So I have a masters degree in architecture (2000). Besides teaching, I am also a writer.
