Hello!

My name is Abby. I come from Chengdu, Sichuan, the beautiful hometown of the giant panda. Life brought me to Switzerland for love, and now I am happy to share my culture and language here. I also can speak Cantonese, Japanese and Korean.

Before moving, I worked as an English teacher in schools, where I gained rich experience in teaching languages. This background helps me understand how to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in English for Professionals from Universiti Sains Malaysia. I'm also an official YCT (Youth Chinese Test)/ HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)/ HSKK (Chinese Proficiency Spoken Test) test examiner.

In addition to giving private lessons, I also teach Chinese at international schools and lead Mandarin immersion Spielgruppe (playgroup) in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. My speciality is teaching children between the age of 2.5 and 12 in an immersive and interactive learning environment. By means of guided game-playing, painting, story-reading, drama activities, song-singing, dancing, and handcraft-making, kids achieve organic language acquisition while having a lot of fun.
