About Me

I am a Canadian who has been living in Rome for 3 years. I am not only a native English speaker, but I have a great appreciation for the language and its unique history. I have always had a passion for teaching which is what prompted me to obtain my CELTA certification.

My time at CELTA has greatly aided my teaching method as I focus on student centredness – allowing my students to self navigate and learn English in the most organic way. With a variety of different students who have diverse learning styles, the philosophy of student centredness creates an environment that helps students learn in a way that is most effective to them.

I love having a diverse student group which keeps me constantly evolving my material and helps me learn too! All classes are completely tailored to your individual needs regardless of age, skill level or native language.

I graduated from Mohawk College Travel and Tourism with Dean's Honours in 2014

I have recently started a language course on English etymology for personal growth and become more acquainted with my native language. Understanding the origins of the language can also aid my students in understanding new vocabulary

I specialise in teaching English for IELTS, FCE and CAE exams. In the class, which are exam focused I will concentrate on grammar, speaking, listening, writing and use of English (for FCE and CAE exams). I generally assign reading exercises as homework to discuss in class if there are questions. I also teach business and professional English for lawyers, doctors and those who work in commerce.
