About Me
Alex, a trumpeter and educator, began his musical journey at Collège Lionel Groulx, where he graduated in classical trumpet under the tutelage of Jocelyn Lapointe in 2021. During his studies, he took the opportunity to participate in numerous jazz festivals as the second trumpet in the Lionel Groulx College jazz orchestra, directed by the talented saxophonist François D'amour. Additionally, since 2022, he has had the privilege of playing as the second trumpet in the Isle Symphony Orchestra under the new conductor, Hubert Tanguay Labrosse.
His musical journey also took him to the East Coast of the United States in 2017, where he participated in a Drum Corps tour, further honing his skills in drum and bugle corps. Alongside his passion for music, Alex shares his knowledge by teaching private trumpet lessons, a rewarding experience that he holds dear.
He firmly believes in the importance of imparting his musical knowledge through personalized lessons tailored to the needs and levels of each student. His passion for teaching extends to the pedagogy of Robert Pichaureau, which he continues to share with his students.
Armed with his bachelor's degree in classical trumpet under Thierry Champs, which he will obtain in April 2024, Alex plans to pursue a master's degree in classical trumpet in the fall of 2024. His choice to join Trent Sanheim's class reflects his strong desire to deepen his skills under the guidance of a mentor who has studied with some of the greatest orchestral musicians in the United States. Alex aspires to explore new repertoires and push his boundaries.
