About Me

I am a musician, producer and Brazilian teacher. My main instrument is the Renaissance Lute. I also play the guitar, both classical and Brazilian. I also work with ethnic music, which I started to study and develop work in the area since 2016. I started to develop my work with teaching in 2012,. At the current times in live in Porto, Portugal, where I chose to continue my studies on the lute, and I also work in the area of the ethnic and world music through my musical group Ti'Sage, La Raiz and others.

Graduated in Guitar (Classical / Popular) by the Conservatório de Tatuí - Brazil, I have experience in Brazilian music and folk music, having worked as a teacher and interpreter in Brazil.

I offer guitar lessons online and face to face, with a special focus on Samba, Chôro, Bossa Nova, the traditional Brazilian MPB and variant genres.

Classes are aimed at people of all age groups without the need for prior knowledge. Will be approached in class the language of the genres with their rhythmic and historical specificities, studies of technique and musical theory.
Classes can be taught in English, Portuguese or Spanish.

Lute classes for all levels (Renaissance to baroque)

Lute classes for all levels. The course will focus on basic techniques (right hand figueta, left hand scales), reading tablatures (Italian, French and Spanish), and developing repertory, starting from early Italian renaissance up to late baroque. The course also provides basso continuo classes (figured bass technique of harmonizing early music).
My approach aims to stimulate the reading from the original sources, both tablature and basso continuo, but I also use modern versions (Tree Edition´s books).
Early music methods: Diego Ortiz, Milan and Narváez treatises.
Modern methods used: Pascale Boquet and Andrea Damiani
The course can also provide theoretical classes, in the case the student may need.

I am teaching Portuguese based on dialogues, written exercises, reading and homework after each class. My goal is to convey a natural language understanding and target individual soft-spots of students, regardless of beginner, advanced student or the support of school lessons. Depending on the individual language skills and preferences of the student the class can be given completely in Portuguese or partly in English.
