I may not have a degree in English or Teaching but I have years of experience teaching English. English is my first language and I have tutored children and adults. Even though I also speak French, I find the best way to teach someone English is to only speak English. I look forward to be not only a teacher but a friend, by helping with homework, proofreading work emails and resumés, preparing for interviews, etc.

The duration of the class can be for as long as you need, and can be for more than one person.

For scheduling, please contact me. I am a student but I only have class 20 hours per week - so I have plenty of free time to teach - but my schedule is different every week.

Extra information

I will always bring a pen and paper and I would love for the student to do the same - you never know what new words or phrases you will need to remember.

About Me

Hi! I'm Giulia! I'm currently a student at LCB in Paris. I have taught children English for years. I have more experience with children but since I am one of the only fluent English speakers at school I have taught many of my friends English - including reading their resumes and helping them prepare for interviews. I was also brought up in a bilingual home - so I know the importance of learning English for the future.

I dropped out of university to travel the world and I haven't looked back. Although some are skeptical of my lack of degree - I feel that my lack of degree has been a blessing instead of a curse. I may not have a DEGREE but I have the EXPERIENCE that matters.

Hello! I have been teaching English for five years, to adults and children alike. I offer classes that are uniquely adapted to the students needs and their interests. We will begin by identifying the student's greatest interests — those subjects they are most curious about and topics that stimulate them. Then, we will identify the student's biggest worries regarding the English language — where they are confused, or tend to make mistakes. This will form the workshop part of the lesson, focused on overcoming tricky grammatical mistakes and revising more complex linguistic and phonetic errors.

I also offer the possibility of following a Cambridge exam orientated syllabus, such as Family and Friends, Cambridge Starters, Movers, Flyers, or B1, B2.

My methodology: Learning to structure one's thoughts to express oneself better
My approach is based on a simple observation: success is not achieved through lack of effort, but often through a lack of method and confidence. My role is to transform subjects sometimes perceived as abstract (Philosophy, French) or intimidating (English) into concrete tools for success.

The typical course of a session:
1. Quick diagnosis: We start by identifying the areas of uncertainty from the previous lesson or the difficulties with a specific exercise.
2. Taking action: No boring lectures! We work on concrete exercises, essay plans or oral practice (in English) to "learn by doing".
3. The "Montreal Method": Having worked for two and a half years in Quebec, I use a North American pedagogy that is very focused on encouragement, clear structure and student autonomy.
4. Summary & Objectives: We end each session with a recap of the key points so that the student knows exactly what to revise.
