In this lesson students do a fun quiz too develop their Thesaurus skills.
They then work in small groups to create their own Thesaurus quiz.
PROCEDURE
*Ask the students for any words that they dont understand ?
*How often do you use the Thesaurus when you are learning English?
*What kind of information can you find in a monolingual English Thesaurus?
*Put students in small groups to share their ideas,or have a class discussion/brainstorming!
*Give each group a copy of the Thesaurus quiz

CHECK QUIZ ANSWERS
*Check students answers by going through each question and eliciting verbal feedback.
*Students to compare their answers with other groups.
10 minutes
*CREATING A QUIZ
*Give each group of students a copy of the Thesaurus quiz template,explain that they are going to create a new Thesaurus quiz,for their colleagues.Students to use the Thesaurus to create the quiz.
*Write the questions,and keep a record of answers.
*Set a new quiz as homework.
