Human Biology Private Tutoring [One-On-One Classes]
From 37 C$ /h
Learn, share and get help on human biology topics. Sessions will be designed to fit the needs of the student!
We will be using the Zoom app.
This class: This course is intended for private tutoring on specific human biology topics (ages 12 to 17).
Each meeting, we will discuss the topic and areas that need greater attention. Students will engage in discussions so they can strengthen their critical thinking skills, and they will also be encouraged to review the topic using their own words to build an actual understanding of target concepts (we can do this together!).
I am a science researcher, especially curious about our body's defense system and its troubled interaction with viruses. I am a bachelor in Biomedicine with a master's in Science and Biotechnology. I am also a certified ESL teacher and have been working at physical and online schools for +3 years. My latest hobby is learning "how to learn" and effective strategies to learn better.
Topics may include, but are not limited to:
• Molecular Biology
• Cells
• Genetics
• Nucleic Acids
• Human Physiology
• Immune System
If you are interested in private tutoring, please:
1. Request a time that works for you;
2. Provide the topics or syllabus of interest in advance to maximize my planning and ability to assist;
3. Purpose of the class: will this be an introduction of the material, review, an extension of topics or help with homework?

About Me
Hi! I am Paula. I am a scientist, especially curious about human cells and their troubled interaction with viruses.
As a teacher, I share my passion for immunology by showing students we all have superpowers! Our journey starts by looking into our immune system, extending that knowledge to learn scientific methods to discover the world around us. I am also very interested in learning "how to learn" and effective strategies to learn better.
I am a bachelor in Biomedicine with a master's in Science and Biotechnology. I am a certified ESL teacher and have been working at physical and online schools with 3 to 18-year-old students for +3 years.
It is well proven that we learn when we are relaxed and interacting with the material and others. This is why I bring interactive games so students will develop their critical thinking, also showing them they already have all the skills to become scientists! I can quickly adapt my class to their needs depending on how they interact. I really enjoy it when students are given the opportunity to teach each other, it serves as a review done by and for themselves!
When not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family (my husband and our ginger cat) and admiring the abundance of the ocean. The world is my backyard!
I will see you soon!

In this science class (immunology), students will have an overview of their immune system’ superheroes (cells), where they are and the amazing actions they will take to protect us from pathogens.
Let's promote discussions and critical thinking activities (Q&A) so students will learn how the immune system cells team up to destroy a pathogen. We will go beyond that knowledge and learn what each of us can do to make sure our superheroes get the support they need (hello science of well-being!) The students will then review what they learned by role-playing: assuming the role of immune system cells and having the opportunity to teach each other what they can do to protect their team.
