The five components of reading instruction in fluency, comprehension, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and phonics.

These components will be taught using activities, direct instruction, and differing forms of literature beginning with Dr. Seuss for phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and phonics. The student will demonstrate mastery in each component through informal assessments during instruction. The student will be taught the components in an integrated approach, not in isolation. Instruction will be tailored to the student’s levels and abilities. The student will receive praise, be challenged, have fun, and improve their reading. I know from my education and teaching experience children have more success learning when they enjoy their instruction and don’t even realize what they can do
