I qualified with Teach First Ambassador Status reaching 32 / 35 'Outstanding' teaching standards (with the other three rated 'good'). I taught as a full time teacher for three years, then did supply teaching for several months so have experience from pre-school nursery up to year six.

My ethos in the classroom was known around the school for being very calm and supportive. I managed to achieve outstanding behaviour management due to mutual respect and understanding. The children would come to me and write my name in the worries box as they knew I would be kind and calm. I believe it is more important to try hard and be able to deal with making mistakes than it is to get everything right. I ran a 'parent help club' after school where I worked alongside the parents to teach them how to teach their children. Subject knowledge is in two parts - firstly being able to do the subject yourself, and secondly knowing at which point each child should be within that subject.
