Learning a new language or a language that you know some about it it's not easy at all. You can know very well the grammar, but at the same time you can be struggling with your confidence when you're having a conversation.

So, taking into consideration that there is no secret formula to learning languages, it will depend of the student, of what they want or they think they need to improve. If is need it more grammar than other aspects it's okay. If the student need to practice more "the conversation" than other aspects it's also okay.

As I said each person learn differently. So I'll try to adapt to each one.

Hello to everyone. My name is Carla and I'm from Barcelona. Currently I've moved to Santiago de Compostela (Galica) to continue with my career as a teacher. Since I was a teenager I was very curious on learning languages. It was very extraordinary for me to communicate with people around the world. I have 2 years' experience as a tutor (freelance). Most of my students were from elementary school and high school. By chance I had several students with attention deficit problems. This was a challenge for me, a work that from day one I found amazing. I realized not only my qualities as a teacher but also the qualities that my students possessed despite having problems to learn.
Through these classes I saw how important it is to be patient and create a bond of trust. Many of my students lacked self-confidence. They were even afraid to be judged. I felt moved and even empathized with them because I had also felt that way at some time.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster.
