Hello,
thank you for reading my tutoring profile.
I am a full Professor of Physics at a large Russel Group University in the UK, and have for six years been Dean for Education with overall responsibility for undergraduate teaching and admissions into our mathematics, engineering, physics and computer science programmes. I have been actively involved in delivering all aspects of teaching and education.
I also have experience as a high school teacher of physics, maths and science and I have offered maths, physics and science private tuition since 2005.
I have a calm approach to tutoring that is based on being supportive and engaging. I use two-way conversations and interaction to encourage and support each student towards reaching their full potential: I consciously adapt the delivery style for each student to match their specific learning needs. I will work with each student initially to identity any areas of weakness or strength and then to design a tailored approach. Examples of tutorial content could include;
– Weekly help to embed specific homework themes
– Weekly work towards deep subject understanding
– Guided past paper question practise
– Intensive topic revision and exam preparation
