Welcome to university students or masters and doctoral students!!! I teach the course of Natural Products Chemistry or Phytochemistry or Pharmacognosy. In this class we will learn about the methods of extracting, separating and identifying the chemical form of active chemical compounds (biologically active secondary compounds) from natural sources, such as medicinal and aromatic plants. We will also discuss what is known as chromatography, spectroscopy, spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, magnetic resonance and advanced analysis devices used in this field. With my qualifications and experience, I hold a master’s degree and a doctorate in organic chemistry (chemistry of natural products), in addition to other graduate degrees and a doctoral scholarship in pharmaceutical sciences in Belgium from the Erasmus Mendus Organization of the European Union.

In this class, I will present an introduction to pharmacology. As a former alcohol and cannabis researcher, I had to learn a lot about what substances commonly referred as drugs are AND what they do to the body. In this course, we will study major drug classes. We will read some of the latest literature on these drug classes.
