Training STEP mathematics - admission test of mathematics for University of Cambridge
From 70 C$ /h
STEP is an additional admission test for high school students who want to read mathematics in University of Cambridge. It is more technical than A-level mathematics and hence it requires extra training.
My goal here is to help aspiring young mathematicians like me (several years ago) get S (highest grade in STEP) in all three STEP papers (STEP1, 2 and 3), thereby being not only prepared but also competitive for the best mathematical education in the best universities.
Besides, I will also introduce some concepts about mathematics that we learn in universities to enrich knowledge and provide a prospect of studying mathematics further.
Finally, I wish every success for my students and cannot wait to meet and become friends with you.

Experience / Qualifications
Statistical Arbitrage | 2023/01-present
· Currently interested in AH (a firm dual-listed in China Mainland and Hong Kong, respectively A-share and H-share) pairs trading, attempted to develop a hedging strategy in order to arbitrage if a statistically significant difference in AH market values occurs
· Made use of Backtrader framework to test this trading idea in algorithms and kept improving
Research & Valuation | 2022/06-2023/01
· To estimate future free cash flows to a firm based on fundamental analysis
· Used financial models such as the CAPM to determine components of an appropriate discount rate, e.g., cost of equity
· Applied DCF to value several companies in different sectors
Trading Trainee | 2022/01-2022/06| London
· Attended a program for training ambitious young traders in financial markets
· Learned about a trading framework combining a top-down macro industry analysis, a bottom-up selection of stocks to construct a diversified portfolio, technical indicators for market timing, risk management and performance metrics
Convertible Bond | 2021/06-2022/01
· Traded in convertible bonds in China Mainland and aimed to spot mispricing between a convertible bond and its underlying stock. Specifically, I focused on seeking an arbitrage opportunity on conversion premium.
Teaching Assistant | 2020/09-2021/06| Shanghai Huaer Zizhu Academy
· Was invited to cooperate on teaching high-school mathematics for 2 classes of about 20 participants each
· Designed and led mini research projects on transportation problems described quantitatively for interested students
Student Representative | 2020/03| Shanghai
· Participated in organizing a local maths summit for educators and aspiring students
· Was selected to give a speech in public about how I made self-learning in mathematics effective
IT Support | 2018/09-2019/06| Shanghai Experimental Foreign Language School
· Built, managed and continued updating official websites for my high school
