Honestly, I used to hate maths. In a class of 30 people sometimes I just wouldn't understand what my teacher would be talking about and I never had the courage to put my hand up in front of everyone to let the whole class know i just didn't understand anything. However, this all changed when I met a new friend at college who taught me all of the secrets and shortcuts you can take in maths to make your life easier, and since then I've loved maths, being able to gain that satisfaction of scoring full marks on those long questions at the end, scoring higher than the majority of my class.
