K-8 Math Intervention Tutoring (great for students who are struggling!)
From 51 C$ /h
Get support to develop deep conceptual knowledge and procedural skill in math. This is an offering for students who are currently struggling in math class, have gaps in their understanding, and perhaps feel math anxiety or dislike math. I bring the math they are working to understand to life, and make it tangible so students can build skill, proficiency, and confidence. All students are given a grade-level assessment to understand their strengths and areas of growth at the beginning of the tutoring engagement. We then focus systematically on identified areas of need, splitting time between learning math procedures and algorithms and cultivating analytical skills and deeper understanding.

About Me
Greetings learners,
My name is Olivea, and I'm a certified educator originally from California. I deeply value connecting what we are learning academically to the experiences of my students. Learning should be fun and feel meaningful, and it can, even when we are working hard. I have worked in six different schools in my career and my experiences have taught me to approach instruction in partnership with my students. Young learners bring so much knowledge, it's my job to help them bring what they know to the surface and make connections to what they need to know.
My instructional style incorporates diverse methods of communicating and experiencing the material we are engaging with. I love to use video, music, manipulatives, and real-world objects (realia) wherever applicable. I'm my students' cheerleader, all while holding them to the high standards I believe all learners can meet with the proper support.
