I provide structured online tutoring for IB Mathematics AA HL, with a focus on exam preparation, mock revision, and identifying the specific gaps holding the student back. The first lesson includes a diagnostic review of algebra, functions, calculus, trigonometry, statistics, exam technique, and recent schoolwork.

Many students do not struggle because they are “bad at maths”. Often the real problem is more specific: weak algebra, gaps from previous years, poor exam technique, difficulty starting unfamiliar questions, lack of confidence or not knowing how to structure their working. Once this is clear, tutoring becomes much more effective.

In the first lessons, I look carefully at the student’s current level, recent schoolwork, mistakes, and goals. From there, I build a personal plan. Some students need to rebuild foundations. Others need help with calculus, functions, trigonometry, probability, statistics, vectors, complex numbers or proof. Some mainly need practice with IB-style questions and exam strategy.

Lessons are adapted to the student. We can review school material, work through difficult homework, prepare for tests and mocks or focus on past-paper questions. I explain concepts clearly, but I also make sure the student learns how to think through problems independently, write proper mathematical steps, and avoid repeating the same mistakes.

This tutoring is suitable for students who feel lost, want to improve their grades, are preparing for exams or need a more structured and personal approach than they get from school alone.

About Me

I have a strong academic background in mathematics and physics, and I have always been drawn to abstract thinking. What interests me most about mathematics is that difficult problems often become clear once the right structure or idea is found. I try to bring that same perspective into my tutoring.

I especially enjoy working with students who feel lost, anxious or convinced that they are simply “not good at maths.” In many cases, the problem is not lack of ability, but a missing foundation, unclear method, or lack of confidence. My goal is to show students that they can understand the material when it is explained in the right way and approached step by step.

My teaching style focuses on intuition first. I want students to understand why a method works, not just memorize procedures. Once the idea is clear, we build the technical skills needed to solve problems accurately and present the work properly.

I am particularly comfortable with higher-level mathematics, including calculus, analysis, functions, proof-based reasoning, and abstract mathematical ideas. This is especially useful for students taking IB Mathematics AA HL or preparing for mathematically demanding university studies.

For me, a successful lesson is not only one where the student finishes the homework or solves a difficult exercise. It is one where the student leaves with more confidence, a clearer way of thinking, and the feeling that the subject is manageable.
