I have received a bachelors degree for mechanical engineering and have proficient skills in teaching. In my classes students will be provided with personalized mathematics and physics lesson plans to most optimally teach the student and improve their knowledge with the subjects taught. My first aim as a tutor is to build confidence for the student and identify what weak points may need addressing. With this approach I believe performance academically will be gained across subjects not taught and provide value outside of classes. I further aim to teach students how to problem solve and not just know an answer but understand how to break down problems and step by step find methods to solve something.

Hello,
My name is Dilan and I offer virtual lessons to help students of all year groups (7-11) pass their mathematics and physics GCSE's. I have received a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering and have a strong foundation of mathematics and physics. My approach to teaching is to first understand the individual being taught and help in developing the confidence and problem solving skills to tackle all academic challenges. Mathematics and Physics are subjects which can be quite daunting to students however, as a tutor i aim to relieve students of that fear and show how enjoyable learning can be once given the guidance to understand.

As a recent former student myself I can empathize with the challenges students face when learning new and difficult subjects often feeling as if certain topics are out of reach of understanding. For me as a tutor to be able to stop those feelings for any student and gain a passion for learning without fear is a goal i aim to achieve through my lessons. This feeling is something I personally overcame through more confidence in my ability to learn which is something I strongly feel I can provide to a student.

As a tutor I am very flexible in providing lesson plans and am always open to feedback on how I can improve to provide a better service.

I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I then specialized in individual academic support by following educational training at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
