Foundations of Higher Mathematics: Discrete Math, Abstract Algebra, Graph theory, Set Theory, Logic
From 33 C$ /h
The following courses are available and most should be taken in sequence (with some exceptions). These courses are the beginning topics for most BS and MS programs. An outline of the material can be found in the recommended reading list alongside each course.
Intro to pure and discrete math - Smith, Fletcher Patty, Epp, or Rosen.
Abstract Algebra I & II - Gallian, Herstein, or Hungerford.
Graph Theory - Chartrand and West.
Logic and Set Theory; Cameron, Suppes, Jech, Hrbacek
Graph Algorithms - Kepner, various sources
Readings of selected papers - various papers selected from combinatorics, graph theory, and other areas
About the Instructor. I have a MS/PhD in Mathematics and an undergraduate degree in Engineering. I worked as an engineer before getting my PhD. I have worked in a broad range of occupations including design and analysis of piston and gas turbine engines, teaching college mathematics, research in engineering for NASA/NGA/Army and finally working on Dept of Defense supercomputers mostly in the field of Deep Learning (TensorFlow, Pytorch).
