Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Maths and Chinese Lessons up to GCSE level
From 49.9 C$ /h
I provide lessons in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Psychology and Mandarin up to GCSE (or equivalent) level online only.
As a mentor, I aim to tailor my lessons to fit every specific student, as each of us is a unique individual. I will help you in the way that you prefer.
Prior to tutoring, we can discuss what you are aiming to achieve out of these lessons, then set out some short-term and long-term goals, making sure that we gradually build on the areas that you want to improve.
Prior to lessons, I will ask which topic you would like to cover, so I can prepare resources and plan the lesson ahead (please do send me any notes or resources that you want to work on if you have).
In a typical lesson, we can start off with a few questions to test your original understanding of the topic, thus we can tackle specific areas that you are weaker on, or find most difficult to understand. I will break concepts down into subtopics and small understandable concepts for you to learn, in any form that you prefer. Again, my teaching style and lesson format can be very adaptable, as I want these lessons to be tailored to you.
After each lesson, we will summarise the content in the lesson, at which point you can give me any feedback on your feelings, and discuss what we might do in the next time.

Extra information
Hi! My name is Annie, a year 12 A level student at Badminton School, an aspiring life science applicant for university.
I am a friendly and passionate mentor who loves sciences, in particular life sciences – biology, chemistry, maths and psychology, which are the subjects I offer for tutoring. I pride myself on my ability to help and support fellow classmates in academic studies as well as daily life, whilst being conscientious and diligent when working in a team.
In GCSEs, I got seven 9s, two 8s and one 7, also an A* in Mandarin in 2018. I have also achieved Bronze and Gold Award in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Having been in your shoes, I appreciate the rigorous process of exams, and sincerely want to support you at any point you need on your academic journey. Moreover, since I have just finished my GCSE journey recently, I have got all the contents fresh in mind, with detailed notes and resources just from hand.
Though not extremely experienced, I have long been a trusted mentor for my peers in school, from thorough theory explanation to tackling exam question. Also, during my GCSE studies, I joined tutoring as a student, so I understand what you expect out of each lesson, as well as the importance to tailor sessions to unique individuals.
As a member of Science Outreach Team in school, I was very privileged to have the opportunity to demonstrate experiments to people of different ages whilst explaining the science behind phenomena, in various Nation Exhibition Centres of different cities – which have definitely enhanced my teaching skills.
Furthermore, as a native Chinese, I can also offer help for language learning in Mandarin, and will be more than happy to offer Mandarin speakers with help in academic learning or English support.
