This class is for students struggling to read or do basic maths. The focus is to learn how to learn how to do these things in a very short amount of time without pressuring the students or overwhelming them. You'll learn a variety of techniques to cut down on time in a relaxed and fun learning environment. If you are an absolute beginner, don't worry, I've had lots of experience with all my students excelling by the end of my lessons.

I was born in Istanbul in 1983. I started teaching Turkish while studying Turkish Language and Literature at university. I worked in a language school and at universities. I have been teaching Turkish professionally for more than 16 years. I also taught Turkish for 5 years when I was a university student. In 2018, I obtained a TESOL certificate and also began teaching English.

I teach both adults and children. Creating a comfortable learning environment for my students is one of my top priorities. If you would like to learn Turkish or English in a consistent and structured way, I would be happy to work with you.

Even though I use a communicative approach, my lessons are supported by a solid understanding of grammar, as Turkish has a very different structure.

I use the course book set prepared by Istanbul University. It follows a strategic approach to learning Turkish and includes all language skills—reading, grammar, writing, listening, watching, and speaking—from A1 to C2. All of these skills are essential for conversation.

I teach English for the A1 and A2 levels.

The workbook offers many exercises for homework or revision, and I support the book with my own authentic materials. I also use an interactive board that you can view anytime, and you can edit it as well. Repetition-based speaking practice plays an important role in my lessons.

I speak English well, and a bit of Italian, and I have also studied Persian and German grammar. I am interested in literature.

I teach Dutch to children, adapted to the level of the child, the age and the goals that wish to be achieved. Learn to READ with Mr. Andrew!

Level 1 is for students with little or no English experience. My students learn naturally through stories, songs and poetry. In Level 1, I teach the ABCs, with emphasis on the sounds of the letters, as well as some basic sight words.

Classes are daily (Monday to Friday) and each class is 40 minutes long. I wrote the stories and poems myself to teach my own kids to read and have been using them to help hundreds of other students in these group classes for over five years.
