Mathematics Tuition At Any Level (GCSE / A-LEVEL / Entrance Exam / University)
From 48.06 C$ /h
I'm a Loughborough University student currently in my final (fourth) year of an MMath degree. After my degree, I am starting my PhD in Applied Mathematics from October 2020 onwards. I have secured a full 4-year scholarship and tuition-fee waiver regarding my PhD, and my research area concerns developing extended mathematical models in field of nonlinear wave dynamics.
Over the past 4 years I have provided mathematics tuition to a wide range of students whose level is anywhere from GCSE up to university standard. As a tutor, my goal is that after ever session you come out understanding the field better in whatever area that you wish to discuss with me.

About Me
I'm a Loughborough University student currently in my final (fourth) year of an MMath degree. After my degree, I am starting my PhD in Applied Mathematics from October 2020 onwards. I have secured a full 4-year scholarship and tuition-fee waiver regarding my PhD, and my research area concerns developing extended mathematical models in field of nonlinear wave dynamics.
I have been studying Mathematics from GCSE, through to A-Levels, and now at university completing my final year of Masters in Mathematics degree. Throughout my own study journey, I have taken upon numerous opportunities to tutor students of different abilities and help them get the grades they wish for.
Initially, I began as a non-profit tutor in my own school where I tutored Year 8-11 students and this involved boosting their confidence in the subject as well as providing new ways to approach problems and solve them.
In summer of 2016, after having some experience, I decided to become a part-time tutor. In turn, I have signed up to one or two tutoring websites (such as Tutorful) and slowly began tutoring students in their own homes as well as online.
In 2017 I was granted two opportunities; one of which was to work with an outreach programme titled 'PATHWAYS Project' being run by a joint partnership of Leicestershire Universities. This involved being properly trained to be a tutor (safeguarding, teaching approaches, various scenario handling) before being sent off to tutor at two different schools every week. The tutoring largely involved the same approach as I was taking previously, but now I was able to build more rapport with my mentees easier, and I often created revision material tailored to the specific students which I have mentored.
The second opportunity was ultimately the same, but run by Loughborough University closer to the exam season, whereby I was sent to help mentor larger groups of students as part of their final revision push before exams.
All this has given me plenty of experience and teaching knowledge that I apply to every session I run. My teaching style has been refined over the years, and I usually like to dedicate first sessions building rapport with my mentees, discussing what topics they want to focus on, how confident they are at the beginning of mentoring, and then plan my lessons in advance accordingly. I like to ask for feedback occasionally to make sure my mentees are happy with having me as a tutor as it helps myself to improve and adapt to particular teaching styles my clients prefer.
As a final note, I would like to also add that I have been very active on The Student Room forum site, particularly the mathematics section. For over two years, I have been daily visiting the forum and helping thousands for students with their mathematics. I have over 16,000 posts in the Maths forum and each one of them has helped a student understand something they didn't before.
!!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION !!!
Due to the current epidemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19) across the UK, I am not available for in-person tutoring until further notice.
In addition, due to closures of schools, disruptions to university examinations, and cancellation of formal summer GCSE / A-Level exams, I would like to help enable continuation of education while students are staying safe at home.
