Master Korean Conversation – Personalized Lessons with a Native English Speaker Who Did It Too
From 94.4 C$ /h
Learn Natural Korean with a Teacher Who’s Been in Your Shoes 🇰🇷✨
I’m not a native Korean speaker—I’m a native English speaker who mastered Korean myself. I know exactly how confusing the grammar, honorifics, and pronunciation can be, and I’ve developed clear, simple ways to explain them.
I lived in Korea for 10 years, studied Korean for 14 years, and earned a Master’s in Korean Linguistics from Yonsei University in Seoul. For the past 2 years, I’ve taught Korean full-time to international learners. Because I also learned Korean from scratch, I fully understand the challenges you’ll face and how to overcome them. I also know that many textbooks teach awkward grammar or outdated words—so my focus is on helping you sound natural and confident when speaking with native speakers.
What you’ll get in class:
Lessons customized to your goals (travel, friendships, study abroad, or working in Korea)
Real-life practice situations: “At the Café,” “At the Market,” interviews, debates, and more
Tips to make your pronunciation sound more natural
Easy-to-understand explanations of the honorific system and cultural nuances
Come learn with me! Together, we’ll make Korean practical, clear, and enjoyable~

About Me
I am an American who has lived, studied and worked in Korea for the past 10 years and who just relocated back to the states. I am very passionate about language and cross-cultural understanding! I studied Korean and French at the University of Michigan and received my Master's Degree in Korean Linguistics in 2019 from Yonsei University. I ended up opening my own business tutoring Korean full time to fellow international people both in Korea and abroad in the fall of 2023. I love helping others gain confidence in learning/speaking Korean.
- I have experience working in Korean-English translation at small Korean companies (webtoon company, edutech startup). This helped me gain experience in more advanced Korean as well.
- I love learning languages, and study French and Chinese as a hobby currently.
