About Me

I am a Spanish teacher specialized in teaching the Rioplatense variety.
Rioplatense Spanish is a variety of Spanish spoken in the region of the Rio de la Plata, Buenos Aires-Argentina and Uruguay. It is a type of Spanish with specific characteristics in terms of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, which differentiate it from other variants of Spanish, but its variety is standard.
In terms of pronunciation you will learn techniques related to the processes of yeísmo, seseo, rhythms and intonations of Rioplatense speech in contrast to other forms of Spanish.
In relation to vocabulary you will learn lunfardo words, whose most important influences derive from Italian due to the immigration processes of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Regarding the grammar of Rioplatense Spanish, you will learn the differences in the use of verb tenses and grammatical constructions of Rioplatense Spanish in contrast to other forms of Spanish.
Rioplatense Spanish is a regional variety with distinctive characteristics from other forms, very interesting to study in order to contrast it with other languages in terms of historical, linguistic, political, geographical, cultural and economic meanings of the Río de la Plata.

My training is specialized in Spanish for teaching Spanish as a second foreign language and multilingual (ELE) at the Instituto Cervantes. I am a teacher in secondary and higher education at the Instituto IES Dra. Alicia Moreau de Justo, Buenos Aires - Argentina.
I am a researcher of phonetic and phonological evolution in teacher training institutes: IES N1 Dra. Alicia Moreau de Justo and UBA.
I actively participate in seminars and congresses of language analysis, in the study of teaching practices in the ELE classroom (I International Conference of Teachers of Spanish and Coofficial Languages - Universities of Belgrade, Sarajevo and Instituto Cervantes Belgrade Spanish Lectorates MAEC - AECID) and literary analysis (Seminar on Irish Literature).
