It is rather difficult to urge 14-16 y. o. children to be interested in studying a foreign language, moreover at school. It seems too dull. However, each good teacher has his/hers own secrets how to turn learning, say, grammar into fun.
I specialise in tutoring English for High School. So, we also have to be a bit serious. We can prepare for the exam by reading interesting stories, watching anime films and talking on everyday themes and topics. I assign homework after every lesson and provide periodic progress reports. Step by step English becomes a part of your life and you realise that in contemporary world you can't survive without the knowledge of English.

About Me
Looking at my age one may think that I am old. Do not look at the face -- look into the soul. I am a university lecturer and among various serious subjects (Like Academic Writing and Japanese History) I teach on Japanese manga and anime. Most of all I like philosophical films by Miyazaki Hayao, for example, Castle in the Sky (天鼓の城ラピュタ）. Also I like movies about school life such as The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (時をかける少女) or Whisper of the Heart (耳をすませば). All anime we can watch in English and in this way you will grasp English communication.

I am not a professional English teacher. However, I can teach you how to speak, read and communicate in English without mistakes and feel yourself COMFORTABLE in an English speaking world. Why do I know all these things? Because I myself covered the way from a girl brought up in a closed country called Russia, the country which reputation is not very good now. I graduated from an English language secondary school which was created with the purpose "to know the language of your enemy" and, of course, for official Russia that meant the US and England. So, teaching and learning English were taken very seriously there. I also studied English and Japanese at the university and obtained various academic degrees. I was often invited as an interpreter when delegations and single scholars visited the institute where I worked. In this way I became familiar with people around the world. When Russia became an open country, I applied for a job to teach Japanese History in Australia and was simultaniously offered a professor's position in Japan. Now I have been teaching at Japanese universities in English various subjects. I will be happy to share my experience with you.
