For me, teaching Spanish is much more than explaining grammar rules — it is about creating meaningful human connection through language. I genuinely enjoy teaching grammar through real conversations and topics that are interesting and relevant to each student. I find languages fascinating because of how beautifully organized, logical, and expressive they are.

I love teaching Spanish because it allows me to share my culture, my country, its people, nature, music, and everyday life. I also truly enjoy meeting people from around the world and learning about them through our conversations.

As a passionate language learner myself, I understand how magical, exciting, and sometimes challenging the process of learning a new language can be. That is why I teach with patience, warmth, presence, and enthusiasm, always adapting lessons to the student’s interests so the experience feels natural, stimulating, and enjoyable.

I hold a diploma in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Instituto Caro y Cuervo. I also have a degree in Biology from National University of Colombia, as well as a University Diploma in French Language from Sorbonne Nouvelle University. In addition, I completed the highest English level in the adult extension program at National University of Colombia.

I have been teaching Spanish since 2008. I started as a Spanish teacher for professors at the École Normale Supérieure. I also taught French government employees from the ANAEM and students from various higher education programs. Later, I worked online teaching employees of SARA through the company Proformación. Eventually, I decided to focus on online teaching through italki and Superprof.

I specialize in helping beginners, including students who have struggled to learn a second language before. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
