I moved to the United States for two years without having any idea of English, the first months were very hard for me, I had been teaching English all my life but I could never learn it properly because the classes are boring and heavy, besides they teach you a vocabulary that you do not use on a daily basis.

The most frustrating thing is that you can understand everything but you can't express yourself or say properly everything you think. My English classes are based on the concept of learning to speak and have conversations that you can use on a daily basis, to improve your pronunciation trying to imitate American pronunciation.

After those two years I came back to Spain and taught my sisters English with a much more simple and fun method, trying to improve and advance every day. The key of all this is to start speaking to get rid of the embarrassment.

Hello everyone, I'm Ariana Trabado, a law student at Carlos III University in Madrid. I was born and raised in Spain in a small town in the north, in Castilla y León. I would like you to know a little bit more about me.

My thirst for international knowledge has increased since I moved to America for two years. Equally thrilling and enriching, this experience greatly developed many of my abilities. Most importantly, I gained fluency in a foreign language (TOEFL certificated level C1) and successfully adapted to an alien environment. Moreover, being there on my own I generated a strong problem-solving thought process which has proven very useful both in my personal and academic life. Which makes me confident that my experience as a tutor will be both fruitful and enjoyable.

As a person whose parents have different nationalities, I’ve been raised to be open-minded to the diversity of cultures and it has been through this mindset that I’ve seen and digested the world in our many travels. I’ve consciously perceived the reality of these places in terms of their politics, economy, and interpersonal relationships, and I’ve kept in touch with the people that I met. It has been through these relationships that I’ve realized that I want to pursue global knowledge and interconnections at a professional level, so I can hopefully obtain a position from which I could improve the situation of many.
