About Me
I'm a lifelong educator. A husband, father, and church member.
I love teaching, traveling, reading, and learning new ideas.
I'm excited about the chance to support your/your child's learning goals.
Engagement is key, and the only real way to know if students are engaged is if they're talking or writing (or reading aloud). My lessons involve a clear target/objective, a variety of lesson segments to keep things interesting, and opportunities for students to practice/apply their learning. Students receive encouraging, specific, and timely feedback focused on celebrating what they're doing well and offering 1-2 tips that will most help them advance (vs. detailing every mistake or offering an overwhelming list of things to work on). I like to use short readings or videos to spark conversation and work to tailor my lessons to the needs, interests, and abilities of my students.
