This course provides an insight into the economic relationships between countries, covering both trade and monetary issues. The first half of the course deals with international trade theory and policy, international trade and terms of trade, as well as the government's policy on international trade and international co-operation. You will explore important topics such as why countries trade with each other and the effect of international trade on welfare and income distribution
Second, the international financial system and foreign exchange issues are explored. Special emphasis is placed on exchange rate arrangements and the effects of exchange rate changes, together with optimum currency areas and the Euro.

Prof. PhD. – Head of the Department of Economics, Accounting and International Business, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Craiova, graduated head of the 2003 bachelor class, PhD in International Business and Economics since 2007 University of Craiova, guest lecturer at Bifrost University - Iceland since 2018 teaching Globalization and International Economics courses, holds as main expertise areas International economics, monetary economics, regional and European economics.
